Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam joined Nissan team members as the first Altima rolled off the assembly line. More “firsts” will come to Smyrna in the coming months as it will be the home of production for the 100% electric Nissan LEAF and its batteries, as well as the next-generation Nissan Pathfinder. The next-generation Nissan Rogue will also be produce at the Smyrna Assembly Plant in 2013.

The 2013 Nissan Altima will begin to arrive at Nissan dealerships nationwide in June.

The ground-breaking Nissan DeltaWing project is an attempt to change the industry of endurance racing. The goal is to complete the famous French round-the-clock race using half the fuel of other car models in previous years of the race.

Motoyama has raced with Nissan since 1996. During his time with the automaker, Motoyama has won more SUPER GT championship titles, race wins, and series points than any other driver in the category’s history.

Motoyama and his teammates have a lot of practicing to get in over the next month. The official pre-Le Mans test is on June 3^rd.

The Nissan One To One Rewards program is a loyalty program that allows customers to earn points that can be used on a variety of services and products at participating Nissan dealerships, including Legend Nissan. The program works by allowing customers to earn points for every dollar spent at participating dealerships. The new film series will have a new episode around every two weeks leading up to the Le Mans in June.  A complete TV documentary will follow the Le Mans race.  A film crew has followed DeltaWing designer Ben Bowlby and his team as the racing machine was built including the engine being developed.

Ben Bowlby said, “We’ve had the Nissan film crew following our every move throughout the development of the car over the past few months and this will give the fans a great insight into the creation of the Nissan DeltaWing.  It was a bit strange at first to have a camera poked under our nose all the time but, after a while, the guys really felt like part of the team.

The brand new 2013 Nissan Altima was completely redesigned for looks, driving experience, technology and more. The IIHS Top Safety Pick rating was given to the Versa sedan for earning the highest rating of “Good” on all four tests performed by the IIHS. The four tests include front, side, rear and rollover crash test. The new roof strength test was added to testing for 2012 to see measure how vehicles performed in the incident of a rollover crash. The higher requirements have made the IIHS rating even more valuable to a model.

The major award is a great addition to the Versa name which has the lowest MSRP in America. Nissan engineers overhauled the 2012 Versa sedan to optimize space and features with the lowest bottom line for customers. Nissan announced that the 2013 Nissan Altima would be put on display at the New York International Auto Show in April.  Since the announcement that it would be shown there, Nissan has been releasing teases along the way.
